Ingredients

  • 1 3-ounce package flavored gelatin (e.g., strawberry, lime, or your choice)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup vodka 80-proof, or preferred liquor
  • Optional: whipped cream or fruit slices for garnish

Method

  1. Dissolve the gelatin: In a heat-safe bowl, pour 1 cup boiling water over the gelatin powder. Stir for 2 minutes until fully dissolved.
  2. Add liquids: Stir in ½ cup cold water and ½ cup vodka until well combined.
  3. Pour into cups: Carefully pour the mixture into 2-ounce plastic shot cups, filling each about ¾ full.
  4. Chill to set: Refrigerate for 2–4 hours until firm.
  5. Serve: Garnish with whipped cream or fruit slices, if desired, and serve chilled.

Notes

  • Storage: Store in the fridge for up to 7–10 days in covered cups or airtight containers.
  • Substitutions: Replace vodka with rum, tequila, or flavored liqueurs. For non-alcoholic shots, use 1 cup cold juice or soda instead of water and vodka.
  • Variations: Try layered shots by preparing multiple gelatin flavors and chilling each layer for 1–2 hours before adding the next.
  • Serving Tip: Lightly grease cups with cooking spray for easy unmolding, or serve with small spoons.
  • Safety: Label alcoholic shots clearly and keep away from children.
